Q. What is ORPHEUS?
A. ORPHEUS refers to music boxes with 30 or more notes produced by Nidec Instruments Corporation (with some exceptions). Compared to standard music boxes, the increased number of notes significantly extends playing time, allowing for a musically richer performance. (Please enjoy the tone quality boasted by Nidec Instruments, Japan's largest music box manufacturer.)
Q. What does "note" (or "N") mean?
A. "Note" refers to the number of "comb teeth". The more comb teeth there are, the more sounds can be played, allowing for a richer tone.
Cylinder music boxes come in 6 types: 18-note, 23-note, 30-note, 50-note, 72-note, and 100-note.
Disc music boxes come in 3 types: 20-note, 45-note, and 80-note x 2.

A. The listening samples are electronic sounds and differ from the actual tone. Also, the playing speed (tempo) may vary due to individual differences, so it may differ from the actual product.
Q. Why do some listening players have 2 or 3 lines?
A. 50-note, 72-note, and 100-note music boxes can play 2 or 3 songs or 3 parts on one music box.
Different songs or different parts will be played consecutively in the order of the listening data. For 2-song or 3-song music boxes, the song order cannot be changed.
