Arrangement
Transforming the original song's charminto music box sound
Melodies and accompaniments are constructed to fit the range and number of notes available for a music box. Each note is carefully selected to convey the essence of the song within these limitations.
Pinning
Each individual pinforms the melody
Thin pins are hammered into a cylindrical part called a "cylinder" according to the song. The position of the pins determines the timing of the sound.
The hammered pins are carefully polished, and the parts that produce the sound are prepared.
Tuning
Adjusting the pitchone note at a time
The "comb teeth" are comb-shaped metal parts. When struck by the cylinder's pins, they vibrate and produce sound.
Craftsmen adjust the comb teeth while checking the sound, finishing them to the desired pitch and resonance.
Meshing Adjustment
Adjusting the contactbetween pins and comb teeth
This is the process of adjusting the positional relationship between the cylinder pins and the comb teeth. Craftsmen listen to each note and check the resonance when the parts are combined.
Fine adjustments are made repeatedly to perfect the performance.
Inspection
Checking the finishbefore delivery
The completed music box is carefully inspected to confirm its finish. From the final check to packaging, every detail is handled with care to ensure your cherished item arrives safely.
