Yes, you can view and listen to actual music boxes at the following two facilities located in Nagano Prefecture and Kyoto Prefecture. We invite you to experience the exquisite craftsmanship and beautiful sound of Japanese artisans firsthand.
※Important Notes Before Visiting
Due to limited display models and songs, it may not be possible to listen to all products. If you have a specific model or song you wish to listen to, please be sure to confirm with each facility in advance so we can check if it can be prepared.
About Products
What are the differences between 30-note, 50-note, and 72-note? Which one should I choose?
The more "notes" a music box has, the wider the range of sounds it can produce at once, significantly increasing the depth of the performance. For a special memory of Japan or a gift for someone important, we highly recommend the "50-note" or "72-note" models.
  • 30-note: A high-quality standard model that plays the main melody and simple accompaniment. The cylinder rotates for about 30 seconds, allowing you to enjoy a pleasant melody.
  • 50-note: An advanced model that adds gorgeous ornamentation and rich chords, allowing you to enjoy a more authentic musical experience. It richly expresses the subtle nuances of a song and is an excellent piece for appreciating the beauty of "sound." It comes in two types: "single song long play," where the cylinder rotates 2 to 3 times to play one song for an extended period, and "multi-song play," where the cylinder rotates once to play 2 to 3 different songs.
  • 72-note: The top-of-the-line model among cylinder music boxes. Like the 50-note, it comes in both "single song long play" and "multi-song play" types. The rich sound thickness and delicate ornamentation created by the overwhelming number of 72 notes cannot be replicated by the 30-note or 50-note models. You can fully enjoy the profound reverberation unique to this highest-grade model.
