Can I cancel an order I have placed?

As a general rule, cancellations are not accepted.
We may be able to accept cancellations if the product has not yet been produced or prepared for shipping, so please contact us with your order number.

Can I actually see the music box before purchasing?

We are an online shop only and do not have a physical store, but we do have a directly managed store called "Suwanone" in Shimosuwa-machi, Suwa-gun, Nagano Prefecture. Although the selection of parts is different from our store, you can actually see, listen to and purchase music boxes.

Can you ship overseas?

We apologize, but we only deliver within Japan and do not ship overseas.

Can I purchase just the movement?

We do not sell movements (mechanical parts) only.

If the buyer and the delivery address are different, how will the shipping label be printed?

If the purchaser and delivery address are different, the purchaser's information (name, address, phone number) will be printed as the requester's information.

What is the mark?

This indicates a short delivery time and will be shipped within 5 days of your order (excluding major holidays).

What kind of free-choice resonant body (case) products are available?

You can freely choose your favorite song and combine it with the resonator (case).

Do you have a product catalog?

Yes, we have a product catalog. Please check it out from the link below. Please note that the catalog includes some products that are not available on our EC site.

Does the demo sound have the same tone and tempo as the real music box?

The sound source you can listen to through the listening service is electronic and may differ from the actual sound.
Also, playing speed (tempo) varies from instrument to instrument, so it may differ from the actual product.

Why are there two or three lines of sample data?

50-note, 72-note, and 100-note music boxes can play two or three songs or three parts with one music box.
We will play different songs or different parts in the order of the preview data. The order of songs cannot be changed for two or three songs.

(Example) Polonaise F.F.CHOPIN/ Farewell Song F.F.CHOPIN/ Fantasy Impromptu F.F.CHOPIN[MM525J+J03]

Songs 1 to 3 will be played repeatedly in order.
Polonaise → Farewell → Fantaisie-Impromptu → Polonaise → Farewell...

Can I get gift wrapping?

Gift wrapping is available for an additional fee. You can add options on each product page. Products that do not have a gift wrapping option are not eligible for gift wrapping.

If I send it directly to the recipient, will I need any documentation to show the amount?

No. No documents showing the amount will be included.

Is it possible to make custom orders?

We can custom arrange your desired song for a music box.

What payment methods are available?

Payment methods include [Credit card], [Convenience store payment], [PayPay], [Merpay], [auPAY], and [Bank transfer].

Can you issue invoices and delivery notes that correspond to invoices?

The invoice will be sent to you after your order is complete, and will include a download link.
A link to download the invoice will be included in the "Shipping Notification Email" that will be sent to you after the product has been shipped. Please download and print the necessary documents from there.
If you would like a receipt, please contact us.

Will paper invoices and delivery notes be included?

In order to be environmentally friendly and to go paperless, we do not include paper invoices or delivery notes in the package. Please download them from the link in the notification email.

Can you issue a receipt?

We can only issue a receipt if you pay by bank transfer. Please request this by replying to the email we send you after placing your order.

The product I received is damaged

We take every precaution to ensure the quality of our products, but in the unlikely event that you receive a defective product or an incorrect delivery, we ask that you contact us using the "Contact Us Here" link at the bottom of the site within seven days of receiving the product.

Please note that we cannot accept returns or exchanges for the following products:
- Products that have been delivered more than 8 days ago

・Returns and exchanges due to customer convenience

Is there a warranty for the product?

Yes, all Orpheus products purchased from our store come with a one-year warranty.
If the product breaks down when used in accordance with the instruction manual, we will repair it free of charge within one year of purchase.
When requesting free repairs within the warranty period, please be sure to present the warranty card.
If you do not present this document, repairs may be charged even if the product is still within the warranty period. Please note that repairs may not be possible depending on the damage.

Can you repair the product I purchased?

If you would like to have a product purchased from Music Box Gallery repaired, please contact us using the "Contact Us Here" link at the bottom of the site, stating your order number (a number beginning with #).
For items purchased at other stores, please contact the store where you purchased the item.

Can you repair a music box I purchased a long time ago?

We need to inspect the actual item to determine whether or not it can be repaired. Please contact us in advance by providing details such as "what kind of item it is," "how many years ago it was purchased," and "what kind of problem it is," and then click "Contact us here" at the bottom of the site.

Is membership registration required?

You can place an order without registering as a member. If you register as a member, you will be able to use "My Page" from the "Login icon" at the top right of the top page, and you will be able to enjoy shopping smoothly from your next purchase without having to enter your address and other details.

How do I register as a member?

You can register by following the steps below.
(1) Click the "Login icon" on the top right of the top page.
(2) Click on "Register here"
(3) The member registration screen will be displayed. Enter your "First name", "Last name", "Email address" and "Password" and click the "Create" button.
*Please register a password with at least 5 characters and half-width alphanumeric characters.

I can't register as a member

(1) Check the error message displayed on the screen.
If you see the error message "This email address is already associated with an account. If this account is yours, you can reset your password.", you are already registered with the email address you entered.
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it
(2) If an error message other than those listed above appears, or if you are unable to register for reasons other than those listed above, please contact us using the "Contact Us Here" link at the bottom of the site.

How do I cancel my membership?

We apologize for the inconvenience, but please contact us by clicking "Contact us here" at the bottom of the site to let us know that you wish to cancel your membership. We will process your cancellation.

I don't know how to register for the email newsletter.

There are two ways to sign up for the email newsletter:
(1) You can register by clicking "Subscribe to our email newsletter" at the bottom of the top page.
(2) When you place an order, there is a field on the screen where you can enter your email address.
Check "Receive news and offers by email" and proceed to complete your order to complete your newsletter registration.

How do I unsubscribe from the email newsletter?

What is Orpheus?

ORPHEUS refers to music boxes with 30 or more notes manufactured by NIDEC Instruments Co., Ltd. (with some exceptions). Compared to standard music boxes, ORPHEUS music boxes have more notes and can play for significantly longer periods of time, allowing for richer musical performances.

Please tell me how long the music box will play.

The music box plays a certain phrase repeatedly<
Although there are individual differences, the standard playing time for one phrase is as follows:
18-note cylinder music box: 12-15 seconds
23-note cylinder music box: 25-30 seconds
30-note cylinder music box: 25-30 seconds
50-note cylinder music box: 30-45 seconds (per cylinder rotation)
72-note cylinder music box: 30-45 seconds (per cylinder rotation)

What does "Ben" (or "N") mean?

The valve refers to the number of teeth.
The more teeth there are, the more notes can be produced, allowing for a richer tone to be produced.
There are six types of cylinder music boxes: 18, 23, 30, 50, 72, and 100 notes.
We offer three types of disc music boxes: 20 notes, 45 notes, and two 80 notes.

What is the difference between cylinder and disc music boxes?

In a cylinder music box, the cylinder rotates, and needles on the surface of the cylinder strike the valves on the diaphragm, producing a melody. In a disc music box, the disc rotates, and the protrusions on the back of the disc turn the star wheel (rake) one pitch, and the tines on the star wheel strike the valves on the diaphragm, producing a melody.
The structure of the disc music box allows for a much stronger force to be applied to the valves than cylinder music boxes, allowing for the use of a larger diaphragm, which allows for a richer range of musical expression.
By changing the discs, many different songs could be enjoyed, and as an "automatic playing device," it gradually became the mainstream of music boxes.
